This is a starter kit for the passport sized TRAVELER’S notebook.
This size fits inside your pocket, so it makes it really easy to carry it around with you at all times. By inserting a zipper case inside, you can use this as an actual passport case, a wallet, or even as a business card keeper. Please write down anything that comes up to your mind while carrying this.
The structure of the notebook is simple, and this makes it easy to customize. Please choose your favorite refills that include notebooks made of various papers, zipper cases, and pockets. You can even paste stickers on the cover of the notebook and add charms on the bookmark or the rubber band and make the notebook yours.
The more you use the notebook, the more the texture and the taste of the leather cover changes, and this change simply seems to reflect the user. It turns into a one and only notebook in the world.
You can carry this during your trip, but by carrying this in your daily life, you can start to have the sense that your daily life itself is a journey.
This consists of a simple cow leather cover made in Chiang Mai, Thailand and a refined notebook with Designphil’s original paper used that is made in Japan.

TRAVELER’S notebook consists of a cut cow leather tanned using vegetable tannin and a tin-made part attached on a rubber band. It is hard to process a leather tanned by vegetable tannin for it shows the wrinkles and scratch marks easily. However, it is environment friendly, and has an authentic attractiveness where it beautifully changes over time. The leather used for the TRAVELER’S notebook has oil seeped inside, and by doing so, it makes the finish soft. We wanted to make full use of the natural feeling, so we did not process it excessively. So please be noted that there might be some small scratches and wrinkles on the cover. The longer you use it, the more the color deepens. And by this deepening, the scratches would be hard to spot.
The color dye of the leather is done naturally, so there is a risk of the color transferring to an adjacent object when it becomes wet or gets rubbed. When the leather becomes wet through rain or sweat, the color may transfer to your clothes or bag, so please be aware when in use. In case it gets wet, please use a dry and soft cloth to absorb the water soaked inside and dry it in a shade. Please avoid using water, benzene, and thinner for this leather. When preserving it, please be aware of any moisture, dirt, and sweat that is on the leather, and store it in a dry place. Please prevent this from sticking to other leather items and vinyl products.
The tightness of the rubber band can be adjusted by changing the position in which the knot is being made. Please adjust to your favorite length.[How to Maintain the Leather]
When opening the package, there may be some white powder like substance on the cover of the notebook, but this is oil appearing from the change in temperature. This will disappear by either warming the surface by using a hair dryer or wiping it with a cloth. Also, if the smell of the oil bothers you, then please dry it in a cool and dark environment for a few days. This will take away the smell to an extent.
The oil which appears as a white powder will blend into the leather over through its use, but in case you’re worried about it, it will disappear by adding heat to it.
TRAVELER’S notebook can be used without maintaining, but if anybody’s worried about the scratch marks or the leather from drying up, then please use a leather cream sold in the market. By using this, the color of the leather deepens, and becomes more polished. This will prevent the scratch marks from showing up. Prior to trying this, please try this first on a part that hardly stands out.
[Please note]This Travelers Notebook is sold with scars and leather unevenness already though it\'s a brand new products. The concept of this product is like \"old used notebook\", and it gives us a feeling of \"used\" from the beginning, even though it\'s brand new product. However, there are some looks new, depending on the part of the leather used. On the other hand, the leather took from the part that has some scratch already, is basically used in production as it is, both for the front side and back side of the book. Even in Japan, it is not possible to pick up only products with no scratch in advance when purchasing, so I would be grateful if you understand this point.
