We have several of these that were part of a load of new surplus
We have absolutely no information about these and they do not have instructions of any type
They are called Model AC500 Garage Door Security System and are probably from 10 or more years ago
Here\'s what we do know about them
These operate on 120 VAC and have a 8 AA battery back-up in case power goes out
Included are 2 magnetic door switches and at least 75 ft of hookup wire
When one of the switches are opened, the alarm trips
The alarm horn emits a horribly high pitched, ear damaging, nausea inducing warbling sound
We\'re pretty sure hearing damage will result so please be careful
Your neighbors will not ignore this one unless they already have brain damage
It\'s that loud and high pitched
There are some other features on the alarm that we can\'t figure out
There is a relay inside that trips after alarm with normally open and normally closed terminals available
I think the relay was designed to operate some sort of solenoid interlock that would prevent door from being opened completely
The front mounted receptacle is always hot and is just there for convenience apparently
Reset switch turns alarm off as long as switch circuit is closed
Slide switch turns alarm horn off all together
Gain control on front of unit, no idea what it does, not a volume control
If you just need a simple stand alone alarm that can cover 2 entry points, this may be it
