This unit uses radio waves to heat and set glued joints in wood.In just five or six seconds moisture is driven out and the glue is set, making further clamping unnecessary.

DESCRIPTION AND FEATURES

This is a fantastic tool for home woodworkers, as well as cabinet, furniture and frame shops, as it allows for almost instant setting of glued parts so that they can be set aside for curing without the use of clamps. This speeds production and reduces the need for lots of clamps.

The approximate dimensions are:

There are handles on each side, and since the unit only weighs around a hundred pounds, it can easily be moved by one person.
A professional in the electronics field recently tuned the coil so that it now produces maximum power (as read on the front panel meter) when in use. There is also a neon light on the head, and when the thumb lever is moved to adjust for wood thickness, the light gets brighter as optimum tuning is achieved. Tuning is really easy, as noted in the online instructions. You just spread or compress the coil in the head, and it only takes a few minutes.
It was used by the current owners to glue wood from 1/4\" thick to 1-1/2\" thick using Titebond II wood glue. The glue steamed and set in about 5 to 6 seconds. It should be noted that the glue was set, not cured, which is what this device is designed to do. Curing is a chemical process that takes hours (types of glue vary), but the parts were snugly attached and could be set aside for curing with no clamps. It works with almost all water-based glues.
The head has a cable that is about 13 feet long so you can reach large projects without having to move the machine. The cable bundle has the RF cable and the two-wire cord for the power switch (trigger) on the head.

As you can see in the photos, the inside is very clean, and the power tubes are excellent.
When hooked up to a WattMiser watt meter, the unit consumed 1000 Watts at 120V when it was turned on and the trigger was pressed.
The little furniture dolly in the picture is not included.

SAFETYThe device works at 27.12 mHz, which is in one of the Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) bands. The ISM frequencies are set aside for devices like this so that they don\'t interfere with communications frequencies. This is not a microwave device, but it does use radio frequency, so care must be used when operating it. They buyer agrees to read and adhere to all safety warnings and procedures on the machine and on the Workrite website. The user should never place hands or other body parts near the head plates when operating the device, for example.

Local pickup only, with the exception that we will deliver this within 100 miles of Hudson, NH (03051) for $1 per mile with a $50 minimum. Delivery to be scheduled as mutually convenient for buyer and seller within one week of the purchase date.
