I bought this at an estate sale. The owner had been an avid metal detecting enthusiast. I was told that it worked but I don't know how to use this type. It looks complicated. The battery compartment/ case is very clean and no corrosion anywhere. I put batteries in it (4 C Batteries) and it does turn on and makes a noise- a constant tone as if it hit a target and will only stop when I turn different knobs. I am not sure if it is working correctly or not and selling it for parts or repair. The needle also moves when I turn knobs. It looks like there was a repair on the pole near where the disc connects- see pics. There is plenty of obvious wear. Shipping $ 25
