Up for sale is a heavy-duty, vintage quick-release tubing and pipe cutter manufactured by the highly regarded Reed Mfg. Co. out of Erie, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. This is the model TC2Q. What it is used for: This tool is designed for cleanly cutting pipes and tubing made of materials like copper, aluminum, brass, or steel. Capacity: It has a cutting capacity for pipes ranging from 1/4" up to 2-3/8" Outside Diameter (O.D.). Condition: This is a used vintage tool that exhibits cosmetic wear consistent with its age and intended industrial use, including peeling red paint, surface scratches, and minor rust spots. However, the tool remains mechanically sound. As shown when fully extended in "image_7.png", the internal slide is intact. The opening and closing slide mechanism works exactly as it should, allowing for quick adjustments on the fly. The tool features a robust four-roller head design to keep cuts square. Dimensions: As shown next to the wooden ruler in "image.png" and "image_3.png", the cutter measures approximately 8.5 inches in length when in a partially closed position. Estimated Year of Manufacture: The tool is stamped with "PAT. NO. 3100934". This US patent number was issued in the latter half of 1963, placing the estimated manufacturing date of this specific item somewhere in the mid-1960s to 1970s.
