Up for sale is a fantastic piece of military electronic history: an authentic US Navy AN/USM-206A Semiconductor Device Test Set (also designated as the TS-2798/USM-206A).
Engineered and manufactured for the Naval Electronic Systems Command by the renowned Hickok Electrical Instrument Co. of Cleveland, Ohio, this heavy-duty, laboratory-grade tester was built to analyze a wide spectrum of early solid-state components including NPN/PNP transistors, FETs, and diodes.
Features & Controls:- Beautiful large Hickok Tautband Model 48WHR microamperes main panel meter.- Comprehensive diagnostic switches for Beta testing, Ohms, Ices Read, and Ices Zero.- Direct-insertion transistor socket blocks alongside external test lead adapter ports.- Dual front-panel integrated fuse holders (.25 AMP).- Housed inside a rugged, heavy-duty black textured metal case featuring a prominent top transport handle and the original orange metal US Navy data identification plate.
Cosmetic Condition:The unit is in wonderful, clean vintage cosmetic condition. The black front panel is exceptionally bright and crisp, with all of its original white and red lettering, labels, and schematic diagrams remaining highly legible. The meter face glass is crystal clear and completely unbroken, with the dial needle resting correctly at zero alignment. The external metal chassis shows minor surface oxidation on the screws and handle brackets consistent with authentic military surplus storage.
