Seems to work properly.I am by no means a metal detector pro.In addition to this "barely considered a test" presented here, I did take coins and junk into my back yard and it also seemed to work out there too.
You will have to know a little about these to "dial it in". It isn't too difficult though. It consists of adjusting the "metal/mineral" and the "zero adj". If you are reading this, you in all likelihood know more about these than I do.When I obtained this, it had a nine volt battery on a hot-glued plastic pincher. I knew this wasn't correct, so I found a six AA battery holder and cut a piece of plastic and formed a holder. It is actually made from the packaging for AA batteries. This seems to work very well, stays in place and doesn't move around at all. It fits very well. I don't believe the single nine volt battery was harmful in any way, but this thing would chew through that power supply very quickly.There is a broken area of the plastic window, at the bottom, as shown in one picture.
