Ethernet ComProbe testing
The Ethernet ComProbe was bench tested.
Verified:
Unit powers normally
Green power indicator illuminates
USB hardware is detected by Windows
Windows enumerates the expected AX88178 USB hardware
Both Ethernet A/B sides were connected inline between two physical Ethernet interfaces
Physical Ethernet link was successfully established through the ComProbe
Disconnecting one side caused the established Ethernet link to drop as expected
This confirms basic power, USB detection and the physical inline Ethernet path.
Frontline/NetDecoder packet capture and protocol decoding were not tested because the proprietary Frontline software/driver environment was not installed.
RS-232 ComProbe II testing
The RS-232 ComProbe II was also bench tested.
Verified:
Windows detects the hardware specifically as “RS-232 ComProbe II”
Serial number FTE02808 was detected
USB hardware successfully enumerates
Inline RS-232 path continuity was verified on the primary communication conductors:
Pin 2
Pin 3
Pin 5
No hardware fault was observed during the bench checks.
Actual RS-232 traffic capture using Frontline/NetDecoder software was not tested.
Software
No Frontline / NetDecoder software or software license is expressly included or guaranteed with this sale.
Buyer is responsible for confirming current software, driver and operating-system compatibility for their intended application.
Teledyne LeCroy currently provides NetDecoder and Frontline ComProbe software/driver resources for supported hardware.
Condition
Used industrial equipment with normal cosmetic wear from previous service/storage.
