MOS Technology MCS 1009 Keyboard Encoder Chip • Original Vintage LSI (Date Code 1776) White Ceramic & Gold Ultra Rare 40-Pin CDIP Descrizione in Italiano Rarissimo Chip Vintage MOS Technology MCS 1009

English Description Ultra Rare MOS Technology MCS 1009 Keyboard Encoder

Stunning and exceptionally rare original integrated circuit produced by the legendary MOS Technology (the creators of the iconic 6502 processor). This is a Keyboard Encoder chip in CDIP-40 format (beautiful white ceramic body with gold-plated lid and pins), dating back to the mid-1970s (Date Code 1776, 17th week of 1976).

This custom chip was used in early professional keyboards and computer terminals during the golden era of computing. A true museum-grade piece, incredibly hard to find in such a pristine, high-end aesthetic variant. Perfect for serious semiconductor collectors and early computer hardware historians.

ITEM CONDITION & DIAGNOSTIC TESTING:
The chip is in superb cosmetic condition, with straight, clean pins and brilliant gold plating. As I do not possess a dedicated IC tester or a specific matching vintage system to perform a live functional swap, the component has been evaluated via static bench testing using a digital multimeter:

  • Resistance Test (Ohm): Fully passed. Shows stable and proper readings in the Mega-Ohm (MΩ) range, confirming an excellent insulation state and total absence of destructive shorts.
  • Diode Check: Tested across internal junctions, yielding a perfectly healthy voltage drop around 0.658V. This confirms the static integrity of the internal silicon die structure, with no internal open circuits.
⚠️ STRICT TERMS OF SALE & NO RETURN POLICY

Please read carefully before offerding or purchasing. As this is a vintage electronic component from 1976, the following non-negotiable terms apply:

  • Aesthetic Collector\'s Item Only: This chip is sold strictly as a historical and aesthetic piece for display or semiconductor collections. It is NOT sold as a \"functional spare part\" or for \"active hardware restoration\", as it cannot be dynamically tested on live hardware by the seller.
  • No Live Testing: The buyer acknowledges that the chip has NOT been tested inside an actual computer system or keyboard. Logical functionality under operation cannot be guaranteed. The sale is based purely on physical cosmetics and static bench tests.
  • \"As Is\" Sale: No claims for \"Item not as described\", \"Defective/Not working\", or hidden internal logic faults will be accepted. Description is strictly limited to the described visual state and static multimeter readings.
  • No Refunds / No Returns: Post-sale return requests or attempts to extract partial/full refunds will not be tolerated. If you do not fully agree to these terms, please do NOT buy or offer.

The chip will be packaged with the utmost care using professional anti-static protection (ESD bag or conductive foam) for safe worldwide transit.
