MAX COLOR PIGMENT PASTEare concentrated color paste additives used to add color to any of our MAX Epoxy Resin Systems.
It is a highly concentrated color paste that exhibits strong color saturation and excellent colorfastness.

Each MAX COLOR PIGMENT PASTE is comprised of high-quality powder color pigments roller milled in an epoxy resin for uniform dispersion.
It is processed through chromium hardened grind roller mill for absolute dispersion and color uniformity.
This special processing breaks down pigment agglomerates into individual micron particles.
Special additives are also added to prevent agglomeration and to increase opacity and color quality.

MAX COLOR PIGMENT PASTEdispersion will not leach or bleed off making it suitable for protective, decorative coatings and casting applications.
All colors are compliant to FDA CFR 175.105 And CFR 175.300 for direct/indirect food contact for coatings and adhesives application.

MAX COLOR PIGMENT PASTE is an excellent additive to enhance UV resistance properties by blocking harmful UV energy from direct sunlight exposure.
Addition andUsageProcedure
The MAX COLOR CONCENTRATE can be blended into any epoxy resin system.
To create special colors use the following procedure by adding the MAX COLOR PASTE to the PART A or resin component first.
Each color can be used by itself or blended with other colors to create secondary, etc. color shades, tints, and hue.

      1. Warm the resin component bottle and pigment concentrate to 100°F in a pan of hot water. This will make color dispersion much easier to add.
      2. Pour all of the PART A resin component in an appropriate size container. Calculate the amount of resin needed.
      3. Add the MAX COLOR PASTE to the PART A or the resin component only.
      4. Add in small increments until the desired color is achieved.
      5. Mix until the MAX COLOR PASTE is uniformly dispersed with the resin component.
      6. Allow the mixture to rest for 24 hours to allow any air bubbles to degas. Warming the mixture to 100°F will accelerate degassing.
      7. Allow the mixed resin to cool back to room temperature before adding the PART B curing agent.
      8. View the epoxy mixing instructional video posted on this item page to ensure proper mixing.

Color wheel chart mixing theory painting tutorial - YouTube

The color wheel is one of the most basic color appearance systems.
The main purpose of this system is to identify the different sets of colors, different color schemes, and color relationships.
There are a number of levels of color within the color wheel.
The levels have aptly named the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
The color schemes defined by the color wheel begin with the three levels mentioned. Below is a diagram of a 12-part color wheel.

The primary colors in the traditional color wheel are red, blue, and yellow.
These are considered primary because, theoretically, every color can be made by mixing these three colors.
The secondary colors are the colors that are made by the primary colors: green, orange, and violet.
The next level, tertiary, is created by mixing an unequal amount of two primary colors and a secondary color.
The tertiary colors are named with little creativity in mind: yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green, and yellow-green.

Attach the mixing blade to a hand drill and regulate the mixer speed to avoid excessive air bubbles inclusion.
Allow to sit for 24 hours to allow air bubbles to come to the surface and degas before adding the curing agent.

Proportioning the correct amount is equally as importantto attain the intended cured properties of the resin system.
The container in which the epoxy and curing agent is mixed is an important consideration when mixing an epoxy resin system. The container must withstand the tenacity of the chemical and must be free of contamination.
Most epoxy curing agent has a degree of corrosivity, as a general practice, protective gloves should be wornwhen handling chemicals of the same nature.
