Dc electronic viarible pulse (controlled)

I am trying to build an electronic device, capable of running a 12volt dc selonoid valve at viarible speed, by user input. I would like to know if this is even possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks

Yes, it can be done. What is the range of speeds that you want to pulse the solenoid valve? Is the solenoid valve capable of moving at you maximum speed?
And more importantly, what are you trying to do with the pulsing solenoid valve?
