Connecting a charger and DC motor with potentiometer?

Hi guys, I need help with a circuit. I have done one couple of years ago but simply forgot how to make it in the meantime so I came here for help.

I would like to connect a Universal 100V - 240V AC to DC power Adapter Charger with Output : DC 24V 1A / 1000mA 24W to a regular toy DC motor like the one here http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjAwWDYwMA==/ ... ~60_12.JPG with a potentiometer in between to control the speed of the DC motor. The DC motor works with voltages ranging from 3v (barely spinning) to 24V (really fast) just like the output of the charger.

Using a series potentiometer is a poor way to control a DC motor. A PWM (pulse width modulation) controller is much better and pretty cheap considering the cost of trying to use a high power potentiometer.

Thank you for a fast reply, however, 1) Ebay doesn't ship those to my country (that's not really relevant now though), 2) because I would like to make my own controller and 3) I am aware a potentiometer alone will not do it, that's why I am asking for a circuit diagram of something similar to that that you showed me, a PWM... How can I make that at home, I would like to buy the parts and build one myself. Thank you once again for a fast response, I really need it fast, I am working on a project.

Also, it would need to be for an adapter of 24V 1000mA, 24W for a toy motor that can withstand 24V. In between those I would like to put a circuit with a potentiometer that can control the speed of the motor, from a complete stop to full 24V. Please help.

It helps a lot if you add your general location to your forum profile.
PWM controllers from other vendors might be able to ship there.
There are lots of circuits on the internet. If there is no option to buy ready-made controllers, then what resources do you have for electronic parts?
