Stupid Series/Parallel Question

My question is simple. WHY??

Placing the two in series I would say that the resistance is increased and a 48 volt supply will become necessary.

When ever you are connecting multiple devices to same supply you should connect in parallel only. Parallel voltage remains same. Series voltage is divided. In first case there will voltage drop across the seleniod i.e. voltage across motor terminal will be lesser than 24Volt. Also, current will be limited to 0.3A due seleniod while current requirement for motor is 0.7A.

The first thing to learn is the most basic of all when starting in electronics. [b][i][u]It is Ohms Law. [/u][/i][/b] Without first learning Ohms Law you may as well give up.
