Connecting power components to Fm radio transmitter module

Postby Duhjoker0077 » Sat May 18, 2013 7:13 am

Hi
I am building a wireless guitar pickup system from several components and need advice on the proper way to hook things up. Parts listed below.

1x fm radio transmitter module rated at 3.3 to 6v power input 88to108 MHz frequency output
1x mini USB charger module
1x 3.7v to 5v step up converter module with charger +- ports, a battery +- port and a +- voltage out port and lipo battery overcharge/discharge protection circuit built in.
1x 3.7 lipo rechargeable battery with overcharge/discharge protection circuit Pre-installed

I plan to hook it up like this,:: connect the Mini USB charger to the charge ports on the step up module and the battery to the battery ins on the step up then connect the power output of the step up to the fm radio transmitter power ins. With a switch of course. Here's my question if the battery already has a protection circuit built in and I connect like I said above will it having two protection circuits make it not charge correctly or will I need to hook up the charger module straight to the battery and skip the charge ports on the step up then hook battery and mini usb charger module straight to battery in ports. I hope I have explained this well enough for you to understand I'm no engineer.

Can you supply part numbers or descriptions of the last three items on your list?

I actually bought all the components of the BAY, There aren't any part numbers but I can describe them better for you or they can looked up on the site I got them from using the parts I listed above just type in query. Going to describe better any way.

1x 5v mini USB 1a lithium battery charging board charger module
Linear charging, Current 1a adjustable, charge precision 1.5%, input Voltage 4.5v to 5.5v, full charge voltage 4.2v, no inversed polarity

1x pcb li-ion lipo battery 3.7v step up convert to output power 5v DLX-UPDC5v
Pcb is designed for 3.7v li-ion and lipo battery pack, supply3.7 li-ion or li-polymer battery to 5v out put, has charge ports +-, battery in ports +- and power out puts. Also built in battery protection module.

1x 3.7 lipo rechargeable battery
Capacity 1000mah, voltage 3.7v, cell count 1, max cont discharge 20c

That's all I can tell you without posting pics of the items.

I just need to know the proper way to connect these three component since the battery and step up converter have battery protection circuits.

Assuming you will be charging from a USB socket, you won't need the 3.7V to 5V step-up converter because you will already be starting from 5V.

So connect the Li-po battery to the FM radio via a switch.

When you need to charge the battery, connect the mini USB charger to a USB port and the li-po battery to the charger output

Ok so connect the battery straight to the charger module then run two wires with a switch from the charger/battery to the power in of the transmitter. Sounds easy enough.
