3-axis, reversable stepper motor control circuit required.

.... just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction if you've seen anything like this before. If you go to the following web site:
( http://s1358.beta.photobucket.com/user/zappafan1a/library/ ), the animation quite clear as to what I need to do, with the addition that, after the Sun goes down, the unit will go to a "home" position... pointing East at the horizon. I'll use stepper or servo motors.... not sure which, yet. And, the animation is for informational use only.... I'm working on a different but similar project.

As a thought, I long ago saw a circuit where large model rocket builders were able to make sure their rocket kept going straight up, using two light sensors with a physical divider between the two, comparing the light input to both (from the Sun), and using micro servo motors to control the fins. I suppose my project would require 6 sensors. Thanks!

I had the same problem, but I finally found the video on you Tube:

h-t-t-p://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhaQwPiVutg Basically, this is what I want to do, but not for moving something this large

I'm going to do a search for open source circuit availability and see what I come up with.

These are 2axis devices. Why do you want 3axis?

You are correct, sir.... I've been working on designs for making changes to my home built CNC machine, and I had 3-axis on my mind. ^_^

by the way, I've found loads of info on Solar trackers. When I get this project done (the 555) I'll have some thinking to do. By the way, where you live/work looks mighty nice on Google Earth. Not many places to do fresh water fishing from what I could see, but the ocean is somewhat close.

I'll be busy tonight, but I'll work on the 555 circuit later and let you know what I've been able to do. What do you do for a living, may I ask?

I look forward to see more of your project.

Yes, a very pleasant place. Donald Trump has chosen the sand dunes about 6 miles away to create "The most famous Golf Course in the world" - his words, not mine.

I am retired now. But I was in electronics for almost my entire working life.
