ASK Transmitter/Receiver Project

Postby joey3451 » Sun Feb 03, 2013 4:23 pm

Hi there
My name is Joseph I am studying electrical electronic engineering and am on my final yr. For my project i decided to do this circuit:
http://www.eetimes.com/design/automotiv ... heft-alarm
which features an ASK transmitter and ASK receiver as living in the uk it is hard to get the exact components so i used similar components that should work perfectly fine the only problem i have is that i don't know if my circuit will work especially as i want to improve it by adding a 7 segment lcd some flashing lights and a spst switch

Here is the ASk Transmitter that I am using:
http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/96892.pdf

Here is the ASk Receiver that I am using:
http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/83921.pdf

I wasnt to sure of the values that i should use and which output i should use in the receiver to attach to the buzzer (Rssi or DO) and didnt know whether to add Rc as SE1 SE0 and SH0

Thank you for reading

Rssi is an analogue voltage that depends on signal strength, so use DO. But its output supplies less than a milliamp so will need to be buffered.

I cannot identify any of these labels.

Thanks a lot for that!! :D

Well the SH0 (I meant SHDW) is a Shutdown logic control input. Active internal pull-up and must be pulled low for Normal Operation

Well the SEL1 (I meant SE1) is a Logic control input with active internal pull-up. Used in conjunction with SEL0 to control the
demodulator low pass filter bandwidth.

in the schematics its displayed to just go straight to ground but was wondering if i should use it as the article did and replace the ground with a (5 kΩ, 0.47 µF) filter

The article uses different ICs than the ones you are using, so the article's circuit won't apply.

I suggest you use the components recommended by the data sheets for your MAX ICs.
