Product description

Pressure Assisted Diaphragm Valves are an economical and low power consumption alternative to direct lift and piston solenoid valves. The reason for this is that they operate the diaphragm by bleeding an amount of working medium into the upper diaphragm cavity to use the working pressure to hold the valve shut. To open the valve, the solenoid only has to let the pressure out of this upper cavity, and the working medium will push open the diaphragm. The result is that the solenoid itself is required to do very little work and consumes very little power.

No Minimum Operating Pressure Unlike Servo Action valves, there is no minimum required pressure to operate. The valve will operate correctly all the way down to 0 PSI.

Direction of Flow These valves are directional, meaning the source of pressure must always be oriented to the inlet side of the valve.

Working Media Cleanliness The liquid or gas which flows through this type of valve must not contain debris or particles that may clog the orifices which operate the diaphragm. This can cause the valve to fail to close (or open). If it does become clogged, remove the bolts holding the main body together, and clean out the orifices.
