Bionetics is an established metrology and calibration provider serving commercial and government customers, operating fixed calibration laboratories and interfacing with NIST on the maintenance of primary standards.

Overview

The HP 83731A is a microwave synthesized signal generator known for excellent spectral purity and high output power — typically greater than +14 dBm — with spectral purity maintained even at high power levels. It is widely used for microwave receiver testing, local oscillator substitution, and component characterization. It is the recommended local oscillator for the HP 8970B noise figure meter, where its low broadband noise reduces error when measuring low-gain devices, and it can drive 83550-series millimeter wave modules to generate signals up to 110 GHz.
