OSI stocks A519 4140 Alloy Round Tubing. This is a hot finished seamless (HFS) tube that is a lower-cost alternative to cold drawn seamless (CDS) tube. A519 4140 Alloy is a good material for applications that do not require the close dimensional tolerances and/or the high quality of surface finish that CDS tube provides. If tight tolerances are required, A519 4140 can be machined to exact specifications. In general, HFS is used for products that require a thicker wall and a high strength material such as hydraulic cylinders, rollers and sleeves. HFS tubing is manufactured to outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness (WT) dimensions.
