Generate Noise - AM or FM

Postby danielpenteado » Tue Sep 17, 2013 6:27 am

Hello all,

I am a newbie on electronics and I need a very simple circuit to verify if my microcontroller (PIC) is powered. The idea is to use one of the analog ports of the PIC to generate a square wave and then feed this square wave into a circuit that will generate a noise (AM or FM) that will be received by a AM/FM radio. If the PIC is powered and working, if a put the radio close to the circuit the radio will capture a strange noise.

I don't know how to design a very simple circuit (with as few parts as possible) to generate this kind of noise. I currently use a 5V battery to feed the PIC and could use it to feed the circuit if needed.

Thanks a lot.
