Capacitor Regulator

I have a circuit that charges up a large capacitor. The circuit requires 6 volts up to 5 amps. It works great, but the problem I'm encountering is that the capacitor can store more than the 6 volts (and less than 6 volts) which allows more than 6 volts to flow through which can damage some parts. How can I regulate the voltage coming out of the capacitor to 6 volts, keeping in mind in can use up to 5 amps. Thanks!
