Need help on a door motion detector

Hello electronic zone users,
i am always shut of words whenever i behold applications of electronics,i am an ardent learner of electronics and want to develop my career in that direction.Meanwhile,i want to attempt this project that opens a door/gate whenever an object approaches it and closes whenever the object moves away from the circuit,i humbly plead if anybody here can help me with a simplified circuit diagram for this motion detector and its principle of operation..thanks in advance!

Do you already have a motion sensor component, that you want to use? (Brand and model?)
If not - what companies sell electronic components locally at your place?

but I'm not sure if it's available to you locally?

You must have a sensor that detects when people come in, such as photodiodes. The output of the photo diode is only logic 1 and 0, so easy to operate.
So the output of these sensors can be processed by the comparator circuit.

thanks abunch for your contribution,i think i would be able to get motion sensor component in my locality..please kindly help me with a simplified circuit diagram that perfectly works for the motion detector

The motion detector circuit is actually just the motion sensor component itself, so to expand a bit: What type of actuator do you want to use to control the door/gate?
A motor would probably have to be stopped again, when the gate reaches open position, in order not to destroy the gate, [i]although[/i] the motion sensor is still ON, so there's some timing involved in this case. You can't just let the motor/output of the circuit remain ON when the sensor is ON. Timing complicates things, but it depends on what actuator you want to use.
And in order to design the exact sensor circuit, the exact sensor model number would be needed to make sure the circuit works properly.
