Help (Solar Lamp Circuit)

Hello I wonder if you can help me.

I am new to electronics however I am handy with a soldering, and de-soldering iron having learnt this in basic electronics a long time ago at school. Recently I have made a DC-DC step up convertor and some minor LED projects to brush up on soldering and to try and get my head around the project I’m about to explain and require help with.

Firstly I do not have all the equipment required to make this project yet and the equipment I do is subject to change if required.

What I want to do is take a 12v 10w solar panel the type used to trickle charge 12v car/trailers/caravan batteries, and use it to charge two 7.2v 3000mAh (6x1.2v AA) battery packs at C/10. The two battery pack will be used to power two lamps at two different locations, one battery pack per lamp. Also the solar panel needs to act as the switch Sun down lamps on, Sun rise lamps off charging begins.

I have drawn a basic circuit diagram that needs to be amended by you guys/gals because.
A.) I do not know if it’s the correct way to go about this project
B.) if the components used are correct.
I did say I needed help

Voltage regulator = L7809cv
Diode = 1N5391? Or 1N5398
Transistor = D45H8G PNP To-220 ?

I have not added the resistors to the diagram but I would assume I need to reduce the current before the L7809cv regulator from 5.5a to 1.5a the diode I assume would require 1.5a of forward current so either 1n5391 or 1n5398 after the diode I’d assume parallel resister to get the current to c/10 charge rate (3000/300 or 6000/600) if I decided to double up the battery packs (7.2v 6000mAh) also would I be required to add a resistor to the base of the transistor for current protection in this case ?

The way I have gone about this both lamps would require the above circuit, and does that mean I would require a circuit to split the connection from the solar panel into two sources ?

Any help with this would be great and I’m sorry but if you could I’m not very good at reading circuit diagrams in other forms than the one I’ve used so could bare that in mind please if you do draw a diagram

Revised my idea a little beings there been no reply yet, thought I would start at the solar panel section and come to the automatic switch and load circuit diagram later

Beings I still do not have the technical read outs of the 12v 10w solar panel yet I cannot determine the resistor type to reduce the possible 5.5a current to a safer range for the diode (1N5391)generating 1.5a of forward current going to a L7809cv out come is 2 outputs at 9v 1.5a

or am I wrong ?
