Reset Buttons

Hello.

I require some help.

Im building a circuit and need to use a reset button. Im using a genie chip (c20) and would like to know weather the reset button should be an input or an output.

Also do i need any other components between the chip and the reset button for example a resistor etc.

Im also using six LED's on my circuit (20mm big lamps) and i am going to run two from each output. What size resistor would i need? If im using a 4AA batterys?

I have looked up the 'Rapid' site and viewed the datasheet for the IC there. But all it gives is the pinout allocations - and nothing about programming.

I assume you bought the C20 as part of a kit from Genie, so is there nothing supplied by them that would indicate how to use it?
