This is the second CO2 laser I've purchased from orionmotortech, and just like the first one, it arrived (in 7 days!!!) with perfect beam alignment and was ready to rock & roll. Their customer service has always been great, so I expect that to continue "if" I do have any issues (I had a couple of minor technical problems, which they resolved quickly and to my satisfaction). I also bought my chiller from orionmotortech, so they are my go-to source for all things laser.

Solid and Reliable, after a few upgrades.
This is our second ZF2028-60. The build quality on the cabinet, gantry, and laser are all really good. Our first unit is running great after over a year of service and just basic cleaning and maintenance. Shipping was good, arrived within 10 days of ordering. Two issues with this unit; 1) Cheap casters and feet. Compared to last years unit, the casters are smaller and cheaply built. The locking lever barely engages the wheels and offer little to no resistance, making the unit easy to move. Adding to this is the fact that the screw down feet had the rubber padding stripped off of them when it was packaged to ship. Making the unit easy to move even with the feet down and casters off the ground. Finally; this is an issue with all AF AF machines that I've seen. The lens that ships ... Just like the unit we purchased last year, I played around with this lens using several Power/Speed combinations and doing several ramp tests and the results were always the same; very wide and charred burn lines. When you buy this machine just plan on spending another $65.00 for a better lens. Second is the air assist. The unit ships with an aquarium air pump. This does not put out enough pressure to keep the laser clean during cutting. Plan to spend another ~$150 to $200 on a good compressor, regulator and plumbing to get the clean cuts shown in the literature. If you spend the extra on the two upgrades, this is an excellent machine and will give you hours of reliable machine time.

The machine showed up well packaged . I watched a couple online videos of unpacking and setup . I recommend doing so it'll save a lot of time . I used the machine straight out of the box as the factory settings worked well . I bought the lightburn software and water cooler to go with it . Everything installed well . Im still learning the software but had it doing some nice practice pieces the same day it arrived . Ive just started with it and so far it seems like a really impressive machine . I bought the automatic bed with auto focus and would recommend that as well . It works good although I have never tried a manual focus .
