DEFINITELY use the external coil current sensor on this, not the internal one. I blew up the first unit with the internal but this replacement worked perfectly with the external. I mounted it all to a piece of wood so I can take it around the house and measure various devices for solar battery planning.

Good unit but the supplied connection circuit is not accurate for US power systems since it shows one side of the 240V supply as neutral. If you connect it to a US 240V system neutral you willread KWH at half actual value because it will only show the Voltage as 120VAC, My solution- power it from 120VAC (US) and mentally double the displayed KWH.No reply from vendor when I asked about this.
