Vintage high voltage instrument transformer or transducer For Sale
Vintage high voltage instrument transformer or transducer:
This is a 1960s vintage military surplus voltage or current sensing transformer. I'm selling this as a collector or experimental item. (or even a video/movie prop) It will NOT work as a standard step up or step down transformer!! Don't buy this if you are looking for a working HV transformer. I took one apart once and it was mostly filled with glass marbles and resin. Just a tiny toroid in the middle with very small wires leading to the ceramic terminals. Near the top was a circuit board with two more toroids and a few caps and diodes. You cannot put normal 60 Hz AC voltage into this thing. It might have been used for some kind of high frequency pulse or signal control. Had no luck finding any data but the company was founded in 1962 in Pittsburgh, PA and later sold off. The unit you will get is not the exact one in the picture ( I have at least 20 of these ) but will look the same. ( Some of them are marked "current transformer" instead of "voltage trans" but look exactly alike on the outside, and serial number will be different )Note: It might be cheaper to come pick up the item in person if you live close enough (especially if you want more than one) Map in photos shows my general location. Unit will NOT fit in any of the postal flat rate boxes. Minimum box size is 14" x 8" x 9" or 10" x 10" x 9".
