Here\'s a truly rare item, aKODAK PTR & VACUUM 16mm & 35mm Movie Film Cleaning Machine / Film Cleaner. This was made by Kelonik in Spain and sold for over $2000 new. This works on USA voltage. This type of unit was often used in projection rooms in archives, and can be added to a film editing bench, transfer, telecine or rank machine, or used in other ways.
If you do a search online for Kelonik and the words \"Film cleaner\" you can find a brochure for this unit.
This uses particle transferring (PTR) technology, developed by the Kodak group. The PTRs shown in the photos are NOT included with the sale, but you can buy identical ones on from seller named davliegogo. In addition to the PTRs, which remove light lint and other particulate, this unit has a Kinetronics Staticvac on board. The Staticvac alone runs over $500 new.
Other features:
-95% cleaning accuracy of particles of up to 10 micrometers in size.
-Extremely durable: more than 2 million meters of film can be cleaned with basically no wear and tear.
-Easy to clean; just wash with water and a wet sponge.
-Made of rigid polyurethane, without adhesives. Non- contaminating, eliminating the need for chemical cleaners.
-Kelonik Cleaners are the perfect solution to be able to keep film clean in the cinema, clean film that has been deteriorated, as well as to reduce background sound from the optic sound band.
