AC or DC supply? What is the voltage and current the driver is required to switch?

To be driven from a PIC, you need logic level power FETs.
For high current types, have a look at these:

The other thread on this board about reverse switching a motor, and to which you posted a question, dealt with using a relay to switch the motor. So I thought you wanted solid state switching instead of a relay.

If you want to use a relay then simply switch it with a transistor driven from your PIC. There are circuits for that in the link you provided. The circuit in Part 1 should be OK.

Main concern is to keep current flowing while switching the motor off. You have to place a high speed flywheel-diode across the DC-motor. Current through the diode is the same as which flows through the motor. When you would use a low-speed diode, very high peak-voltages will occur. Thats why your relay contacts are burning. Also place a large capacitor as buffer for the current. Keep all leads as short as possible between relay (or mosfet), diode and capacitor.

If you need a circuit, please post back.

Wim
