control model planes using speech recognition

is it possible to control model planes using speech recognition? if it's possible, what kind of knowledge to i need to pull it off?

Most radio controlled planes are directionaly unstable, and need to have constant correction applied to their control surfaces. With digital control these updates are sent every 20ms.

It is highly unlikely that anyone could achieve that sort of control with a speech recognition system.

i was thinking of like say u want the plane to go up so you say : elevator 10 degree. And when u think it climb enough u say: elevator 0 degrees. that kind of u see and u control type

What instruction would you give when it started to roll?

Surely you know what a roll is? It's when one wing starts to drop. If left in that condition the plane will go over onto its side, then its back and head earthwarrds with disastrous results.

When flying a model you have to make continuous adjustments of the aileron control to correct for either wing dropping. They are continuous small adjustments and you would not have time time make a series of spoken commands like left, stop, left, stop, right, stop, right,...etc and have speech recognition convert them to commands. At the same time you need to make corrections for the elevators, and the rudder, maybe?

They would all be much too slow.

oh. hmm true.. then is it possible to make it semi voice control? example u still use voice command but with the help of a controller. so example u say : roll right 10 deg. and if there is any changes needs to be made to the alierons/ elevator u do it on the controller?

No, that would be far too complex to be housed in an RC plane

I hope you know radio controlled planes are unstable with their control surfaces constantly ‘yelling’ for constant corrections! Via digital control, these updates are sent and received every 20ms. Such control is usually rare via a speech recognition system.
