When you read the noise figure of an RF amp, is it safe to assume that the number given such as 1db is equal to the noise that the amplifier adds to the signal along with the gain of the amp? If this is true, if I terminate the input with a 50 ohm terminator and measure the output PWR, should I not see only the noise PWR of the amp? (1db) Also, what is the character of this noise? Is it typically broad band and Gaussian?
