Simple Dead Man's Handle/Button Curcuit

Postby GAFAAAAA » Fri Aug 10, 2012 11:04 am

Hi,

I'm a bit of a newbie to this kind of circuitry, I just wondered if someone could give me some kind of idea as how to make a circuit where after 5 or so minutes an LED comes on and if a button is not pressed within 30 seconds a buzzer sounds like some sort of dead man's handle. I will need quite a bit of help, I understand it will probably incorporate a 555 or 556 chip for timing, but other than that, I don't really know what i'm doing.

Any help at all would be great

Thanks

Gareth

Are you still looking for help on this?
If so, do you need to do it with external timer chips (available as project/demo boards if you don't want to make your own circuits) or could you use the old fasioned octal relays with timer bases? (more expensive but easily configurable).
