Is the capacitor destroyed?

On the picture you can see a ceramic capacitor, that is black on its top. Does that mean that it has been destroyed, or can I use it?

No, it's not damaged. The dab of paint in that position indicates its temperature coefficient.
Black indicates a value of zero. If it were in lettering it would be shown as NP0.

Zero temperature coefficient means that its value is very stable; so its capacity will not change with changes of temperature.

I hope that helps.
