Impact Sensor

Postby GreatGonzo » Tue Apr 17, 2012 7:38 pm

I am attempting to build a wireless impact sensor for a project I am working on. I have figured out most of the components that I need for a prototype, but I am stuck on the sensor itself.

I need a component that will be normally open, then momentarily closed when impacted. I would prefer the part to be solid state, or at the very least, have very few moving parts. I would also prefer not to get into accelerometers that have to have microprocessors and programming involved.

Any Ideas?

Thank you

What about a simple inertia switch - the sort used as a movement sensor?
