General question related to server operating system.

Hello,
I am trying to put together a media server and would like to be able to manage it remotely since I don't really want a monitor, keyboard, mouse in the stereo cabinet. I want to know whether it is good to use a server operating system for the ability to run terminal services ??

Although this is not the relevant forum for such topics, here we go.

You really do not need a server OS for terminal services or remote desktop. There are several freeware programs available that will allow you to do just that such as:

www.teamviewer.com
www.logmein.com
www.crossloop.com

And for a small fee which is a fraction of the cost of a Windows server OS, you can get many more features.

If you need a tight integration of such services, you can also try a free Linux distribution.
