120vac - transistor circuit

Postby naitek » Wed Feb 05, 2014 10:17 pm

Hello;

i am just learing how to make some circuits i need for a diy project and i just dont know how to move forward

1 have a homemade choc. temper machine, which i want to turn on / off the 120vac supplying heat once a temperature of 91F is reached.

I know i can use a transistor with source , gate and drain ( 120vac ), but
how do i do this for an ac circuit or do i just get ac parts?

eg -->
light source switch --> on = temp 0 - 91f -->> so
a thermistor that will cut off supply once temp is reached, then turn back on
once too cool.

any help would be great!

thanks

it is 120vac wall light switch. dc components can work , i just dont know how unless using transformers, rectifiers,etc,etc

Have you considered using a bi-metal thermostat?
