Precision Rectifier Circuit

Postby kengwapo » Mon Sep 30, 2013 4:28 pm

Please help me with this circuit (attached).
What is the flow of current in this circuit? My problem is when i use 1/4watt, 5watts, and even 10watts for 10kohms and 12kohms (i used resistors instead of potentiometers) the circuit damages these resistors.. Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance! :D

I assume the 1A current source is 1A RMS at 60Hz. That current is going through a 3.3ohm resistor and gives 3.3VRMS across R3. There is no way that voltage applied across either fixed resistor would cause heating problems.

So I don’t understand the problem. Presumably this circuit is being fed into a simulator? Is the simulator saying there would be a fault?
