Idiot light circuit help

Postby CrAzY_DrIveR » Tue Sep 24, 2013 10:00 am

Hi, i really like electronics but i don't understand anything about it so i need some help :)

My car had a idiot light for the oil pressure that switches off ground to the light when there is oil pressure and everything is ok, so when the engine is off the switch was on and so was the light as it normally should be.

My new engine has an inverted system that switches on ground when there is oil pressure.

So i need to turn off the light when ground is applied and turn on the light when ground is not present.

I found this circuit but i use a simulator (http://www.falstad.com/circuit/) it shows I=1.34A
is this normal?

Is it possible to make a more simple circuit that does't use so much power?

The circuit is OK. You say you have 'another problem'. Is it the same question as your first post?
