Is there a relay for this?

Postby gudde1251 » Fri Sep 20, 2013 10:26 pm

Hello, I am new to this forum. Here is my project.

I have a Reporter Driveway Alarm (PIR motion sensor with a wireless receiver). This receiver has a built in "Normally off" relay that I can access for an additional external device. This relay engages for about 2 seconds.

I have outside downlighting around the perimeter of the house in the soffits. These are controlled by a Smarthome programmable dimmer on/off wall switch. I have this light switch programmed to come on at dusk and remain on, at variable brightness, starting at 80% and gradually decreasing to 50%, then turning off about 4 hours later.

The Objective: When the Driveway Alarm is set off, I would like the soffit lights circuit to be switched off, then a separate circuit feeding the perimeter downlights to turn on (no dimming required) and stay on for about 5 minutes, then turn off and switch back to the original circuit.

This is all on 120 VAC. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?
