RS232 to PIC18F4520 URGENT

RS232 to PIC18F4520 URGENT

Hi. Im currently using a PICDEM 2 PLUS board and I need a Optically Isolated RS232 circuit using MAX232 chip. I know that the PIC have its own RS232 chip but I need to come up with a circuit for testing. PLEASE I NEED HELP. All of my circuit designs does not work.

Your question is rather vague. What do you want to test and why do you want optical isolation?

Can you fill in with a few more details?

I'm suppose to work on the communication line between PC and a Microcontroller board. I wrote some codes which would ask the user to input a number (from the keyboard) and the microcontroller board would receive it and display the number on the LED (in binary). I want to isolate the power of the PC and the MCT board.
