FM Transmitter question

How exactly do we test this circuit to see if it's working properly?

Do I plug in a audio device (let's say my MP3 player) to the audio input.
Set my radio for like 103MHz, and adjust R1 until i hear something, or am I way off track?

Yes, that would seem to be the obvious thing to do.

you can use EDAs to stimulate and see the output if it is working and obviously later on you need to verify practically....I do my simulation on ADS, done such RF mixers and modulation such as dqpsk modulators...check might help you
