Newbie needs help on "Lie detector".

I greet everyone in this forum..I stomped into an electronic website while surfing the internet..I was so surprised to see this wonderful project"Lie detector" and strongly believe i am not the only one who has seen it since i am new to electronics.
I am interested to use this circuit as my project in school,i would like to know if this circuit would work or what and what do i have to do to make this work?...Please,Your help is needed to enable me plan ahead,thanks in advance
