Phone Circuit that picks up on a custom or personal ring.

Postby dzavadil » Sat Mar 26, 2011 5:34 am

Hello all
Our phone company (Landline) offers more than one ring tone. We currently have the normal ring and a second tone that consist of two short rings. They gave us a second number for the ring-ring tone.
I need a curcuit that will ignore the normal ring but if the ring-ring tone comes across the line the circuit will close a DPDT relay and route the call to a X10 PHC06 controller. The PHC06 will then answer the call and will accept DTMF tones to allow me to control X10 modules around the house from a remote location..
I have bought two (used) commercial gadgets that are supposed to do just what I described above. They were the model SR2 made by Multi-Link INC. They were non-functional. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks..........Dave

Have you tried contacting the company that sold them to you?
