I am trying to log the voltage and current to a PC used by a few standard household appliances (TV's, Water Heater, Range, etc.). I know how to do the software part, but I am not sure how to accomplish the electronics part of building a circuit that will connect to a serial or USB port.
There are things you can buy that will log this information, but they seem to start around $350 to do it. i don't need to store info in this device, just send the readings in real time back to the PC. I can have the software handle the rest.
Can someone help me with how to create this circuit.
Specs:
Voltage: 100-250v AC
Current: 0-60A
(using a clip on meter is not a problem, it does not have to be inline) |
