Hi all, I just came across this forum...

Can someone please give me a quick run down on volts and amps when it comes to batteries? I've got a couple of (kids) electric quad bikes minus the recharging cables. The smaller of the two has a 6 Volt 4.5 Amp rechargeable battery and the larger one has a 6 Volt 7 Amp rechargeable battery.

Rather than finding the recharge cables to suit I'm thinking of replacing the batteries completely with a much bigger battery that will last longer before it needs recharging. What's the max voltages/amps I can run?

Thanks.

The idea is, and this applies to all batteries afaik, keep the volts the same and go for the highest amp/hr you can afford.

Hi guys.
I want to use 15v power supply to run my project. I am using 20 volt battery but in my project i need only 15v i am using step down transformer but their is no Change in voltage by using it. Because of high volt the component is damage.
Can anyone suggest regarding this problem??

fabiosmith: In another thread you said you were in your "third year of uni studying electrical and electronic engineering"; Are you seriously asking why a transformer won't step down DC?

Lem,

fabiosmith just happens to post from the same IP address as robortwillys, who says he is a doctor from San Jose.

Does that tell you something?
