Hi everyone. I am new on here and need a bit of advice if possible. I have been given a project from school and my knowledge is on circuits is limited (however, willing to learn)! I must design a circuit that:

Allows the user to activate the circuit when required
The circuit must run for 2 seconds and then stop. It must then be able to run for another 2 seconds and stop.
Once the circuit has ran for 4 seconds the circuit must not be able run again for at least 10 minutes.

Sorry if this does not make a lot of sense as i say its not my best subject but require an A for next year! Any helped would seriously be greatly recieved.

Lee

This can be done in one of many ways. I will suggest the following method for very accurate operation.

You can use a microcontroller (PIC) for this. A PIC (Programmable IC) is a very common IC which we can program according to our needs. I recommend you to buy a 16F84 PIC. It has 18 pins. You will have to buy a programmer circuit as well. Using MikroC language you can program the PIC. In the code you will simply code the logic which you want the device to perform.

I guess this is the best and the easiest way you could get accurate results. There are other methods in which you will be using RC oscillators and counter ICs but you'll have to go through some tedious calculations to get good results.

cheerzzzz...

P.S.
In case you need further help send me an email on kanishuw@gmail.com

I can provide you the MikroC code and may be the circuit diagram as well

Myself Lara, Hey Miller you should try tip shown by kanishuw. I also finished similar project.
This is best and easiest way to get accurate results.
Now cheers.
